Paul Byrne

Paul

After completing a law degree, Paul lectured and tutored in law subjects for one year and then completed a Graduate Diploma in Bar Practice. He then gained admission as a barrister of the Supreme Courts of Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT. In that year Paul also received a student body-nominated award as one of the 50 best lecturers at QUT.

Paul is nearly half way through his second decade practising law, most of that time as a solicitor and solicitor-advocate, and he divides his practice primarily between family law, criminal law, (and its related areas such as traffic law and domestic violence).

Paul graduated from the Legal Practice Management Course with a Distinction in 2001.

Paul is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, the Family Law Practitioner’s Association of Queensland, and is a qualified Independent Children's Lawyer.

Having practiced as a solicitor, associate, senior associate and partner, Paul then commenced the firm P J Byrne & Associates in early 2004.

Paul has practiced in specialised areas within the criminal law and quasi-criminal law jurisdictions including domestic violence, traffic law, and professional misconduct matters in the Misconduct Tribunal, the Crime and Misconduct Commission, and the Australian Crime Commission.

Practice Management and Workplace Human Relations are Paul’s collateral areas of interest and study.
